WSU Field Evaluations
Artifact Description
As an artifact to represent Standard 9, I included my field evaluations from my WSU-R Clinical Supervisor. These evaluations document the strengths and areas for improvement in my lesson, as well as some ideas to try for next time. I also set goals and created a plan to meet those goals.
AnalysisThese evaluations demonstrate opportunities I had to use my clinical supervisor's feedback as a resource to support my reflection and problem-solving skills, and receive new ideas to implement in future lessons. I actively sought feedback to support development as a teacher and tried to apply the advice I received. I always looked forward to the suggestions and wisdom imparted to me by my supervisor. It was helpful to know which teaching strategies were "outdated" and which were found to be more effective. I also appreciated learning about activities, methods, and assessments that were unknown to me.

SynthesisI used to be intimidated by being observed by my professors and clinical supervisors. I still get nervous during observations, however, I know that the resulting comments will be helpful and provide me direction in how I can improve all aspects of my instruction. I truly want to be the best educator I can be, and these evaluations are such an invaluable method to my professional development. In my upcoming journey through the GIP, I anticipate many more evaluations and hope for significant growth in my abilities as a result.
