MTLE Scores
Artifact Description
As an artifact for Standard 1, I've chosen my MTLE scores, which document understanding in various areas specific to teaching within a K-6 license. The three basic skills tests focus on reading, writing, and math. The two pedagogy subtests and three content subtests measure proficiency in their respective fields based on the Minnesota standards for that field.
SynthesisI chose this artifact to illustrate my understanding related to the multiple aspects of teaching. A passing score for each of these tests is 240, with a perfect score being 300. My scores demonstrate that my knowledge in respect to each of these fields is solid.
Using my knowledge of the major concepts and subject matter, I am able to construct more effective lesson plans and individualize my instruction according to the students' learning needs. I also use my knowledge to connect multiple subject areas together and create learning that is relevant to the students' daily environments and future. |
AnalysisWhen it comes to learning, there is always room for growth. My knowledge in each of these fields will continue to expand as I become fully immersed in my teaching career. As my scores illustrate, my strengths vary within each evaluated area.
During my ten-weeks student teaching placement, I learned more about connecting knowledge to other subject areas and to everyday life. I have also gained more insight into designing interdisciplinary learning experiences that allow students to integrate knowledge, skills, and curiosity across several subject areas. I will continue to develop subject matter knowledge, as it is ever changing. |
