Prezi Presentation
Artifact Description
As artifacts to represent Standard 6, I included two Prezi presentations that I created. One focuses on the Anishinaabe Native American tribe, and the other focuses on Howard Gardner and his theory of Multiple Intelligences. Both provide details and facts for each respective topic.
AnalysisThese Prezi presentations convey ideas and information using technology as a communication tool. The Prezi on Howard Gardner was used as a visual aid during a presentation I gave on his theory of Multiple Intelligences. Rather than just providing verbal communication, I used the Prezi to enrich the learning opportunity and deepen understanding.
The Prezi on the Anishinaabe Native American tribe was used as an organizer for research I had done on the topic. It can be used as a quick resource for students learning about Native American cultures, as well as a teaching aid to show images of points of reference. Prezi presentations can be used as a tool to support and expand communication in an engaging manner. They provide opportunities for the presenters, whether teacher or student, to organize their thoughts and articulate their ideas while speaking about their topic. |
SynthesisPrezi presentations are seemingly more engaging than PowerPoint presentations in the way that they are designed. Since creating these artifacts, I have discovered and used more interactive media tools that have resulted in greater student learning and higher levels of communication among peer-to-peer and presenter-to-audience.
As I become more emerged in teaching, I hope to find innovative ways to encourage communication in a world that seems to have lost many foundational aspects of communication due to technology. I want to find a way to still integrate technology while maintaining the essential skills of communication in basic forms. |
