Motivational Plan
Fostering Intrinsic Motivation
Motivating our students can be a daunting task at times. It seems as though they prefer to perform well when rewards - such as classroom parties, Friday Fun Day, pajama day, extra recess, and movie day - are there to greet them at the end of the tasks. And why not? These are all fun goals to achieve, even for the teachers! Yet, how can we get these young minds to be intrinsically motivated to do their best when there is nothing tangible on the other end of that success? Here are some methods that I plan on using to inspire students to become intrinsically motivated to do their best... along with the occasional Friday Fun Day, of course.
